The process of this painting was new for me, and so much fun. I first painted a series of abstract shapes on then canvas and then took it outside with my paints under a dogwood tree. I  then traced the shapes of the leaves and branches of the shadows from the tree onto the canvas. A new type of plein air. Poetic and loose.
